Today we’re celebrating Construction Manager Peter Wilson’s 10 Year anniversary with Taylor. Since commencing back in 2010, Peter has always been an incredibly dedicated and experienced manager who goes above and beyond to contribute to the success of the business.
Over the past decade, Peter has played a pivotal role in over 20 Taylor projects, many within the Health & Aged Care and Education sectors. Commencing as Project Manager, Peter quickly demonstrated remarkable knowledge and skill which enabled him to progress into more senior positions including Sector Manager and, now, Construction Manager.
Throughout his time with Taylor, Peter has played a vital role in many award-winning projects including Cardinal Freeman Village and HammondCare Miranda. Both of these outstanding projects were awarded National MBA Excellence in Construction Awards in the Health & Aged Care category. More recently, Peter contributed to the success of Knox Junior Academy and Grammar Performing Arts Centre which earned an MBA Excellence in Construction Award in NSW for Private Schools over $50 million.
Peter’s achievements reflect his outstanding leadership in guiding his teams to deliver exceptional spaces for clients. However, it is his calm and collected approach throughout the complete project lifecycle that is admired by all who work with him. Peter manages each project with the same level of exceptional focus, patience and commitment – his management style has made him instrumental to the high quality outcomes of Taylor projects.
When asked about the best aspects of his job Peter observes, “Seeing others in my team progress and achieve something that they have been striving toward is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job. Being able to support and celebrate the successes of great teamwork is key to delivering on a client’s vision.”
We asked Peter what has kept him at Taylor for so long and some of his key insights include;
- An uncompromising approach to WHS&E and quality compliance,
- Prioritising communication with clients and project stakeholders,
- Always operating in an ethical and fair manner,
- Investment in you and opportunities to grow your career,
- If you work hard and perform you’re rewarded,
- If you have a failure, but you have given everything you can, you’re provided feedback and support, and
- A proactive approach to investing in the next generation of people to continue the industry.
At Taylor our people are and always will be our greatest asset.
On behalf of the entire team we would like to express our appreciation and heartfelt thanks to Peter for his respected years of service which has helped make Taylor the company it is today.
Thank you Peter.
