Taylor Conference & Team Building Day 2018

April 29, 2018

On Tuesday 24th April 2018, Taylor hosted a Conference and Team Building event at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf, where we welcomed our entire team for a day and night of team building, networking, business updates and celebrating success. The day followed a jam-packed agenda with a variety of activities, from leadership panel discussions, to team building, reward and recognition of our teams and individual team members, right through to giving something back to people in the communities we live in.

The team welcomed motivational speaker, Jonathan Beninca who has over 10 years of experience delivering safety presentations to business executives, mining and construction workers. Jonathan shared his personal journey with the team of losing multiple limbs after being run over by a train at the age of 19 when taking a short cut across the tracks. Following Jonathan’s presentation and lunch, the group split into multiple teams for our team building activity ‘Bikes for Tykes’ where each group was required to work through a series of challenges with the overall goal to build a bike from scratch. It wasn’t until the end where there was a final twist, and the team was introduced to 28 smiling children from Kookaburra Kids, Taylor donated the bikes we had built in support of Kookaburra kids with each child leaving with a brand new bike.

To conclude the day, the team hosted our annual awards dinner with our very own Robert Kokanovic (General Manager Construction) and Tim Christie (General Manager Fitout & Refurbishment) as our joint MC’s for the evening. This initiative is an integral part of the Taylor culture where we acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional efforts of our Team over the past year. We had an overwhelming response this year of over 280 nominations across our 10 award categories.

Congratulations to all our award winners and thank you to our entire team for a great day!
