On Tuesday the 29th of January, Taylor hosted our annual Conference and Team Building Day at the renowned Luna Park, a favourite Sydney landmark in Milson’s Point. The event followed a jam-packed agenda, commencing with a business update and leadership panel discussion followed by an inspirational talk from the innovative entrepreneur behind the famous Harbour ‘BridgeClimb’, Paul Cave. The event then continued with a fun and interactive Team Building Activity where our groups were on the pursuit to find the Fugitive on the loose! And finally, to finish off a great day, everyone was treated to a hearty lunch and awards ceremony where we celebrated the achievements of many project teams and individuals in the business over the past year. It certainly was a great way to get the team together and kick off the new year!

To begin, the discussion panel was a great opportunity for team members to present their business-related questions to the leadership team. The insightful session provided our team with an understanding of our business objectives, current and projected pipeline of work, career progression opportunities, employee incentives and much more.

The team were then captured by Paul Cave’s inspiring professional story from pioneering the famous and highly successful ‘BridgeClimb’ through to becoming the Founding Director of the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Cancer Centre.

Shortly after, the Corporate Challenge team building event kicked off. The Taylor team was divided into groups and set out on a mission to find the fugitive on the loose! Teams were required to work through a series of challenges including taking creative photos throughout the amusement park, deciphering some tricky problems, symbols and word jumbles as well as piecing together all the clues. There was plenty of walking, with all teams ending up at Lavender Bay! In the end, the winning team wasn’t the first to find the Fugitive, rather the first to complete the Fugitive’s final task correctly – Congratulations Group 24!

Finally, to finish off the event, the team hosted our annual Awards Ceremony with our very own Rob Kokanovic (General Manager of Construction) and Tim Christie (General Manager of Fitout & Refurbishment) as our joint MC’s for the lunch. This initiative is an integral part of the Taylor culture where we acknowledge and celebrate the exceptional efforts of our Team over the past year. We had an overwhelming response of over 309 nominations across our 11 award categories. We are very proud to congratulate the following team members on their award.
