Friday 14th June marked a significant milestone for Taylor as we handed over the final stage of the Cardinal Freeman Village redevelopment at Ashfield, for Stockland.

With a combined value of $140m, Taylor has delivered a total of 203 Independent Living Units across 6 buildings, a 133 bed residential aged care facility that includes caring for those with dementia, underground car parking, construction of new community facilities, landscaped areas and conservation of historic buildings.

The redevelopment of Cardinal Freeman Village has been recognised for excellence winning the Master Builders Association National Lifestyle Housing for Seniors Award as well as the Master Builders Association Excellence in Housing Awards for Lifestyle Living over 55’s.

Cardinal Freeman Village Stage 1 and 2

Stages 1 and 2 of this major project showcases high quality retirement village design. The scope of work involved construction of 97 new Independent Living Units including underground car parking, construction of new community facilities, conservation of historic buildings and construction of a generous open landscaped space.  Taylor also delivered the Residential Aged Care Facility at the site which comprises 133 bedrooms that includes caring for those with dementia.

Cardinal Freeman Village Stage 3

Stage 3 is the final phase and completes the village redevelopment. The final stage involved the removal of existing residential quarters to allow for construction of a further 106 independent living units over buildings 5, 6 and 7 of the village. Works also involve construction of a new underground carpark, internal road adjustments, new ceremonial driveway, associated gardens, reinstallation of preserved heritage gate and integration works with the existing village.
