The $23 million hotel consists of a 192 room hotel over 9 levels including basement. Key features of the new hotel include meeting rooms, a fitness centre, on-site parking spaces and a breakfast area known as The Great Room.
Taylor was initially engaged in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) role for the future Holiday Inn Express hotels to be rolled out across Australia. Working with the client we assisted them in developing the project brief and then worked through the design process to develop a solution that provided a design that was innovative and cost effective whilst ensuring the design brief, specifications and PPR requirements were met.
Once the Holiday Inn Express design model was established we then worked with the client to make it specific for the site at Macquarie Park. As the site specific design was progressed we assisted the client in the Council approvals process. As part of the process we developed the Lump Sum Design and Construct price and then worked with the project team in an open book manner to identify opportunities for innovation, value engineering and buildability efficiencies to achieve their budgetary requirements. The ECI period was finalised with Taylor providing a Lump Sum Design and Construct price to complete the project.
