Taylor delivered the refurbishment of The Law Courts located in the Supreme and High Courts of Australia in Queens Square, Sydney. The purpose of the project was to return the Law Courts to their original state, operation and function prior to a major water leak within the building and involved restoration to levels 3, 5 and 6 which were all damaged as a result.

The main works occurred on level 6 which included the removal and reinstatement of wall and partial ceiling linings (including acoustic insulation) as well as the supply and install of new floor finishes of carpet and vinyl to the entire floor space. Additionally, Taylor supplied and installed new joinery, cupboards and shelving units within the level 6 associate and chamber offices. The entire floor was painted including all existing doors and frames.

The works on levels 3 and 5 consisted of removing and replacing the veneer and ceiling panels which were damaged by the leak. Taylor carried out this work during the evening to avoid disruption to the operation of the facility.

It is important to the Law Courts Ltd that the project was delivered to a high quality within a strict time schedule. To maintain and accelerate the programme, Taylor engaged with various subcontractors who had previously proven time-efficient and reliable to ensure the project was completed to meet the client’s needs.
