Layer is an Industrial Facility for storage and handling of Scaffolds designed and produced by a German Company called Layher. They pride themselves for producing the highest, most durable and safest products. The project includes 1500m2 warehouse area, 250m2 training/showroom area and 400m2 office area.

A value engineering proposal was made at tender early stages to significantly reduce the cost of the project mainly by reducing facade glazing and some other facade elements as well as reducing the loading dock awning. Section 96 was submitted to reduce the specified stormwater treatment system resulting was a 115K saving to the client for installation plus 75% savings on maintenance cost

Endeavour Energy advised the requirement of a substation. Taylor engaged a level 3 designer and negotiated with EE to remove the requirement to assist the client with additional savings. The issue pushed the power supply to a date later than the Practical Completion date. Taylor proposed to achieve PC with existing power supply and come back later to install the permanent supply at no additional cost.
