Taylor have delivered the Liverpool Catholic Club project which involved the delivery of a 4 star, twelve level hotel building connected to the existing Mercure Sydney Liverpool Hotel. Features of the building include a ground level entry and service facilities, two levels of function, seminar and meeting rooms with associated facilities and seven levels of hotel accommodation.

Taylor aligned closely with the hotel management to keep them updated on a daily basis particularly during the demolition phase and through periods of noisy activities. Vibration monitoring was implemented while demolition occurred through parts of the existing hotel structure to ensure the comfort and safety of the hotels guests.

Prior to excavation and piling works commencing a significant number of in-ground services were found that had not been located or shown on any drawings. Taylor undertook extensive locating, CCTV and surveying works to locate all of these services and were able to provide solutions for diverting these outside of the new building footprint. Following this, Taylor created an ‘As built’ plan for the client to accurately show the existing services within the location of the new hotel extension.
