For over 100 years, Anglicare has been servicing people in need in the community as a leading care provider founded on its vision, values and quality of service. The redevelopment of Gowrie Village will re-establish Anglicare’s footprint on Sydney’s Lower North Shore and further enhance its outstanding history and reputation as a provider of aged care and retirement living, and Taylor is proud to be a part of this.

This facility is located within the tranquil gardens of historic Gowrie Village in Gordon, the perfect location with Gordon shops and the railway station within walking distance.

This new facility will involve the partial demolition, design and construction of a new 3-storey, 107 bed residential aged care facility. The project scope includes refurbishment and re-purposing of 8 Edward Street into staff facilities, 40 Independent living units to be built across buildings A & G with associated basement carparking. In addition to this, there will be refurbishment works to the existing Burnham Thorpe building into retirement living apartments and community spaces.

External works consist of new landscaping, rehabilitation of surrounding vegetation and renovation works to the existing pool.

One of the most important project considerations in the planning of the delivery of the project was understanding the complexity and sequencing of a project of this scale and nature to ensure the successful delivery of multiple structures that include heritage and civil elements. The project team will establish communication channels with the local community, manage the heritage requirement of the project and maintain fauna and flora DA requirements.
