Thank you to the Master Builders Association NSW for hosting a fantastic evening on Saturday night for the annual NSW Excellence in Construction Awards 2019, recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements in the Construction Industry.

Taylor is proud to have walked away with 3 award wins in partnership with our clients, Knox Grammar School (Uniting Church in Australia Property Trust NSW), BMW Australia and NSW Department of Education, awarded in the following categories:

The Knox Junior Academy and Performing Arts Centre
WINNER: Private Schools $50,000,001 & Over

This multilevel facility now accommodates a four level Performing Arts Centre for Knox Grammar School in Wahroonga, providing students with spaces to learn, practice and showcase their creative talents in music, drama, dance and audio visual.

The building comprises music and drama classrooms and multi-purpose spaces, a 700 seat tiered lyric theatre, a 165 seat minor performance space, state of the art music, dance and drama teaching rooms. In addition to this is a new secure basement car park with 116 spaces and a link footbridge connecting the new centre and the wider campus.

 

  

BMW & Mini Sydney
WINNER: Industrial Buildings $25,000,001 & Over

Taylor undertook the complete renovation of BMW Australia’s flagship dealership at Rushcutters Bay in what is one of the largest dealership refurbishments in Sydney’s history. This new state-of-the-art facility is positioned at the junction between three distinct suburbs; Darlinghurst, Kings Cross and Rushcutters Bay, making it a prime position for new and existing customers.

Taylor worked across a 6,900m2 site delivering a five-storey building on 5,000m2 floor space including two showrooms, BMW and Mini, a workshop area, offices, parts storage, a training centre, a carpark with ramps that connect to both buildings and other ancillary features. The ultimate redevelopment provides a personal and unique customer experience with the ability to showcase 100+ vehicles in showroom display as well as the capacity to service 100+ vehicles per day.

  

Stage 1 Lindfield Learning Village
WINNER: Adaptive Re-use $10,000,001 – $60,000,000

The Lindfield Learning Village located in Sydney’s leafy northern suburbs involves the refurbishment of the former UTS Ku-ring-gai Campus in Lindfield and converting it into a revolutionary new state school. The project is being built and refurbished for the NSW Department of Education. Initially, following Stage 1 works, the school caters for 350 students ranging from Kindergarten through to Year 12 of what will eventually be a cohort of 2000.

The new school adopts a unique approach to teaching whereby students advance based on their progress rather than their age. Older students are encouraged to mentor younger ones and students take responsibility for their own learning.
