Taylor is very proud to have received awards for all three of our entries this year, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team.

Winner – Professional Excellence in Infrastructure

Congratulations to Senior Project Manager, Patrick Reavey, for winning the Professional Excellence Award for his leadership in the delivery of the PolAir Facility, Bankstown.

PolAir is a new purpose-built facility for NSW Aviation support branch at Bankstown airport. Operations focus on reducing crime through the use of PolAir aircraft, searches for missing people, vessels, aircraft, offenders and also involved in specialised rescue missions, counter-terrorism operations and targeting crime. The project was delivered within a live airport environment and comprised 3,000sqm office space across two levels, 7,500sqm hangar space and adjoining aprons, taxiways, carparks and landscaped areas. The total development area exceeds 25,000sqm.

Patrick will now represent Taylor in the National Awards.

High Commendations

Taylor also collected two High Commendations in the Adaptive Re-Use and Sustainability categories. Congratulations to Dean Fondas, Senior Project Manager, for the successful delivery of the Lindfield Learning Village Stage 1 and Aaron Persson, ESD Engineer & Green Star Associate, for his sustainability work on the SOPA Office Fitout at Sydney Olympic Park.

Lindfield Learning Village was a challenging, fast paced and extremely rewarding project for Taylor that required excellent communication, collaboration, forward planning, and attention to detail. Taylor successfully achieved our client’s vision by ensuring that this new education revolution was complete and ready for 350 students enrolled for Term 1, 2019. The Project entailed the re-purposing of the UTS Ku-ring-gai campus into a new school for SINSW.

The SOPA Offices are sustainably designed achieving a 6 Star, Interiors v1.1 “World Leadership” Green Star Rating. Setting the benchmark for workplaces of the future, the project places upmost emphasis on sustainability and exceeding environmental objectives. The design allows for an abundance of natural light and harnesses modern industrial elements with high-end bespoke finishes. The open plan layout allows for generous space and provides breakout rooms for employees to collaborate.

Congratulations again to Pat, Dean and Aaron along with all team members involved in these projects.

Thank you to AIB for hosting a fantastic virtual Awards event, we look forward to tuning into the National Awards next month.
