This is the second Volkswagen showroom constructed by Taylor Construction Group. This project involved a complete refurbishment of the old office works retail store located at 355 Pacific Highway Artarmon to develop this new vehicle display centre built on a floor plate of approximately 1900m.
Volkswagen Artarmon incorporates a basement car park, handover area and a wash bay with the ground floor including the main display area combined with a café, reception, offices and amenities. The display also features a Mezzanine level with an admin area, sales offices and a meeting room.

The site location posed some challenges to the project team with the main frontage to one of North Sydney’s main traffic arteries, Pacific Highway. Powerlines to both Pacific Highway and Whiting Street also constricted the site.
Keeping in line with the recognisable Volkswagen themes, the building facade comprises Alucabond and large expanses of glazing lit with LED surrounds. The structure is a complete redesign of the existing building to accommodate for the large spans and loads required.
This flagship project for Volkswagon was completed in December 2012.
