Taylor delivered the Canon headquarters fitout simultaneously with the base building construction of 5 Talavera Road at Macquarie Park. The specialist fitout and construction teams collaborated early in the base build phase to facilitate seamless integration of methodology and construction technique to ensure efficiency of design, budget and delivery time frame.
The project involved a 4 level open plan fitout over 12,500m2. The scope of the works included a high end feature architectural reception area, interconnecting staircase between levels 1 and 2, open plan collaborative space hubs, product testing and build laboratories, sophisticated audio visual automation, large conference rooms and main boardroom areas. Installation of building sky signage and general building signage.
Once the project was clearly defined the team planned site specific management controls, undertook a risk assessment and established a management plan to ensure smooth delivery.
The building achieved a 5 Star Green Star rating in the Office Interiors – As Built category which meant that it emits a third of the greenhouse gas emissions and use a third of the electricity compared to the average Australian building.
Throughout the project Taylor’s formal Quality Management and Project Management systems were implemented. This documentation brought simplicity and accountability to the project to ensure controlled mechanisms were in place to verify quality, safety, management, environment and design under our third party accredited system.
