McDonald Jones Stadium Office Fitout

Taylor delivered the new office fitout at McDonald Jones Stadium in Broadmeadow. Works took place on level 2 of the western grandstand and included construction of a new reception area, meeting room, staff kitchen, printing room, manager’s offices and open plan workstations.

The client, Venues NSW own and operate numerous sports and entertainment facilities around New South Wales inclusive of the McDonald Jones Stadium and the Newcastle Entertainment Centre & Showground.

Through their facilities they conduct various commercial activities, from hiring out venues and managing event ticketing, through to hospitality, catering, sales and advertising. The new office fitout enables local staff to carry out many of these operations within a functional space of the stadium.

Due to the nature of the venue, it was important that the stadium remain secure and operational during construction, with minimal disruption.

The Taylor team was able to achieve this through a number of initiatives, these included:

• Scheduling works around planned major events and functions;
• Frequent communication with the venue manager and client;
• Efficient use of the Taylor WHSE systems; and
• Working closely with experienced subcontractors.

Furthermore, Taylor provided a full-time Site Manager to oversee all construction activities and ultimately meet the daily operational demands of the stadium.

As a result of these initiatives, the team was able to deliver the project within programme and to the satisfaction of the client.
