The Heart of Collaboration – Taylor’s Vision for the New Office

Building relationships is fundamental to our business, so we put this at the very heart of our Headquarters relocation and transformation.

A culture built on connection is the essence of why Taylor is a great place to work. Connecting people and spaces is the purpose that drives everything we do—the key to making these connections is building great relationships. By listening closely to clients and gaining a true understanding of their goals, we can help clients’ businesses succeed while connecting people with spaces that meet their needs.

With our purpose and principles in mind, our new office was designed to bring everyone together on one floor and driven by three key themes: connection and community, social and environmental sustainability, as well as growth and industry recognition. The result is a refreshed workplace that not only harnesses open collaboration and shared experience, but also encourages interconnectivity for our people to engage, develop, and collectively grow.

The heart of our new office is the Bid War Room, an open collaborative space purposely designed with no doors. A central focus for the business is winning more great projects to deliver together, and we want everyone to be part of this process. Breaking down the walls and allowing the broader team to experience the excitement of a bid being closed is all part of bringing the team on this journey.

Beyond this space, each surrounding area resonates a casual yet professional atmosphere using elements of transparency and openness throughout the design. The layout seamlessly combines our large flexible breakout spaces with focus pods and rooms, open plan workstations, and various adaptable meeting hubs in common areas. There are also several dedicated touchdown spaces for our site-based staff who may be working in headquarters for some time, or just visiting for the day.

Multiple modern meeting rooms of varying capacity blend and branch off the broader space. As a nod to the many milestones we’ve achieved over the years, meeting rooms have been named after projects that have been major turning points for the business.

Social and environmental sustainability is strategically weaved throughout the space with key finishes, materials and products that have been consciously chosen to align with our sustainable objectives. The overall aesthetic incorporates indigenous overlays with an Australian-infused palette through a combination of biophilic connection, linear alignment, and soft and approachable designs.
