Taylor assisted Opal Specialist Care to create an environment that allows their residents to transition calmly and seamlessly from their home, where there has been a lifetime of memories and experiences, and into the care of the residential aged care facility.
This was achieved by a well-considered and constructed built environment and is not by one party alone but a collective effort of many. This was reflected in the collaborative and open book delivery approach between the Principal, Taylor and the design team that has fostered innovation, enhanced timeliness and reduced project risk for all stakeholders.
The facility comprises 133 bedrooms that includes caring for those with dementia. An early works package that included bulk excavation and shoring was undertaken that allowed time to develop the design, seek value engineering initiatives, remove risk and provide cost certainty within budget of the main works.
