Taylor delivered the refurbishment of the main public areas of the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. The works included the upgrade of the ground floor lobby area, new all-day dining, heritage bar upgrade works, new laneway barista bar, new reception & concierge areas, new commercial kitchen, new baggage area, new lounge and upgrade works to the main hotel entry and porte-cochère area.
This refurbishment met the high expectations of the Marriott, that their international guests and visitors have come to expect. Taylor worked closely with YTL Hotel, Marriott, the Client Superintendent and Hotel Security to establish a construction programme to minimise interruption to the hotel operation as the refurbishment works were carried out in a fully functional environment. This meant working around 600 hotel guest rooms, second floor dining area, a pool, gym, AVIS car rental facility and an operating Post Office within the same building.

The new lobby provides a luxurious all day dining experience and new large commercial kitchen that allows diners to interact with the Chefs. The all-day dining has been opened up allowing the space to flow through into the refurbished Custom House Bar with its heritage listed marble bar being preserved.
The expansion of space surrounding the new porte-cochère/reception area gives hotel guests a much better check in experience where the Marriott can now handle a larger number of guests arriving simultaneously, particularly during the Sydney summer cruising season and increase business conferences.
