Tara Aquatic Centre and Sports Precinct Nears Completion

Shaping the future of education infrastructure at Tara Anglican School for Girls.

Works are progressing well at the sprawling Aquatic Centre and Sports Precinct at the school in North Paramatta. The development, located between the school’s existing gymnasium, multipurpose hall, oval and tennis courts, will comprise of 25 metre eight-lane Water Polo competition pool, 15 metre learn to swim pool, fitness centre and tiered seating for spectators and supporters.

The project team recently completed the core concrete structure which runs over three floors. This achievement enabled the installation of a 70 metre, 20 tonne structural steel truss lifted on top of 4 x 30cm diameter concrete columns! Two of these trusses were the heaviest lifts of the project, with an impressive 4.8 tonnes and 60 metre reach for the crane. Once complete, 150 tonnes of detailed steel will have been installed at the precinct.

In addition to the structural and steel truss completion, the following works have been completed and/or are on-track for closure in the coming weeks:

– The pool area roof is now complete
–  The world-class gymnasium and northern pathways/ramps are on-track for early completion
– Works on the Eastern Boardwalks walkway bridge are in progress
– Fit-out is underway for the modern change room, shower and toilet amenities located within the facility
– Ventilation works continues, with 2 metre x 2 metre underground air ducts, with state-of-the-art filtration units installed.
– Tiling work is underway for both the water polo pool and separate learn-to-swim pool.

Team Taylor is thrilled to be nearing completion on this new facility, which will enable Tara Anglican School for Girls to expand and enhance the quality and delivery of their sport, fitness and wellbeing programs.
