Taylor Awarded the Design Finalisation and Construction of the Wollongong Hospital Upgrade Works

Congratulations to our Refurbishment and Live Environments Division!

We’re thrilled to share we have been awarded the main works contract for the Wollongong Hospital Upgrade Works!

Works involve construction of a new medical imaging facility to house new MRI and CT scanners. The new facility will be located on the ground floor of Wollongong Hospital near the Emergency Department, ensuring that emergency patients can access CT and MRI services in a timely manner.

The project also involves the relocation of the existing Medical Assessment Centre to a new location within the hospital, which will enable expanded outpatient services. The upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s $21.85 million investment to enhance health services and infrastructure at Wollongong Hospital for staff, patients and the community.

Construction is expected to begin in the new year, with the medical imaging facility expected to be completed in late 2025.

Taylor looks forward to working with Health Infrastructure, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, Johnstaff, Gran Associates, Sherson Architecture, and all consultants and subcontractors in delivering the improved facilities.
