Paralympian Kahi Puru Shares ‘Work Safe. Home Safe’ Message with Team Taylor

Paralympian Kahi Puru Inspires Taylor's Team with Vital Safety Message.

On Friday, 29th November, Taylor, in partnership with icare, hosted a site BBQ featuring guest speaker Paralympian Kahi Puru. Aligning with Taylor’s “bringing safety home” message, Kahi, a former world champion Paralympic powerlifter and Safety Ambassador for icare NSW, met with Team Taylor to discuss the importance of a safe and inclusive work environment.

This marks the second time Kahi has visited Taylor’s sites to spread his vital message to the broader workforce. Determined to shift the industry’s lacklustre approach to safety, Kahi emphasised the shared responsibility of management, teams, and individuals in creating a safe work environment.

Kahi stated, “Safety reporting always has to be the top priority – the first and last 10-minutes of your shift can save your life, or the life of your colleague. Think safe, work safe, go home safe.” He further shared his personal experience, highlighting how a workplace injury can have a devastating effect on the individual, their loved ones, and the workplace. “By sharing my experience, I can make people more safety-aware. Being able to prevent one workplace injury is worth its weight in gold.”

Through this event, Taylor continues to reinforce its commitment to safety and the well-being of its employees, ensuring that everyone goes home safe.
