Taylor have been engaged to carry out the refurbishment of The Law Courts located in the Supreme and High Courts of Australia in Queens Square, Sydney. The purpose of the project is to return the Law Courts to their original state, operation and functioning prior to a major water leakage within the building and will comprise restoration to Levels 3, 5 and 6 which were all damaged as a result.

The main works will occur on Level 6 which will involve the removal and reinstatement of wall and partial ceiling linings (including acoustic insulation) as well as the supply and install of new floor finishes of carpet and vinyl to the entire floor space. Additionally, Taylor will supply and install new joinery, cupboards and shelving units within the Level 6 associate and chamber offices. The entire floor will be painted including all existing doors and frames.

The works on Levels 3 and 5 will consist of removing and replacing the veneer and ceiling panels which were damaged by the leak. These works will be carried out during the evening to avoid disruption to the operations of the facility.

It is important to the Law Courts Ltd that this project be delivered to a high quality within a strict time schedule. To maintain and accelerate the programme, Taylor have engaged with various subcontractors who have previously proven time-efficient and reliable to ensure this project is completed to meet the client’s needs.
