Knox Grammar School Appoints Taylor the Design Finalisation and Construction of the Ewan House Refurbishment

We are excited to share that Taylor has been awarded the design finalisation and construction of the Ewan House Refurbishment for Knox Grammar School.

The Ewan House Refurbishment Project delivers alteration and additions to a heritage listed building, Ewan House. Located on the Knox Grammar School Preparatory campus, the purpose of the development is to align Ewan House with the School’s 21st century pedagogy and educational practises to create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable space for students, staff and visitors to utilise when visiting Ewan House.

The Refurbishment involves internal alterations and demolition to create new teaching and staff spaces, as well as modifications and additions to existing classrooms and administration areas. Additionally, the project includes a new canteen fitout, new outdoor courtyard featuring an accessible lift, new ceiling and roof framing structural work, and new fire, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical services to replace redundant infrastructure.

Through our extensive experience in delivering vibrant and dynamic educational spaces, and having previously completed the Knox Performing Arts Centre, Taylor is excited to build on our relationship with Knox Grammar School in delivering the Ewan House Refurbishment.

The Taylor team look forward to collaborating with The APP Group, and all consultants and subcontractors on this exciting project.

Taylor Awarded the Design Finalisation and Construction of the Blayney Multipurpose Service Redevelopment

We are thrilled to announce Taylor has been appointed by Health Infrastructure (HI) to deliver the design finalisation and construction of the Blayney Multipurpose Service (MPS) Redevelopment.

Part of the NSW Government’s $297 million MPS Program, the redevelopment will provide improved access to health and aged care services in rural and remote communities. The redevelopment will provide a one-stop hub for services within a well-designed facility consisting of a new residential aged care wing with all single rooms, an Inpatient Unit supporting palliative and respite care, an expanded HealthOne, emergency and ambulatory care services.

The new facility will be built on the existing Osman Street site, ensuring proximity to other medical and aged care services and high-quality health care closer to home. These significant improvements will create more modern, fit-for-purpose facilities that enable a seamless care experience and will meet the growing health needs of the Blayney community for years to come.

Through our extensive experience delivering high-quality health facilities for HI, Taylor understands the specific nuances health facilities have and how to deliver fit-for-purpose facilities to meet stakeholder expectations.

Taylor looks forward to collaborating with our client, The APP Group, and all consultants and subcontractors to bring this redevelopment to life.

Taylor Celebrates Hard Hat Day 2024

Team Taylor recently came together with our subcontractors for Hard Hat Day 2024, with four of our sites hosting BBQs and lunches generously sponsored by our subcontractors.

Raising over $6,000 for the Property Industry Foundation, each lunch onsite served as a special opportunity to fundraise for this vital cause, connect with each other, and enjoy a hearty meal with our clients, partners, and valued subcontractors.

Hard Hat Day raises funds for the Haven Project – a collaborative effort with the property and construction industry to build and renovate homes for homeless youth. Every night, 46,000 young Australians go without a safe and secure place to sleep.

Taylor is a proud long-term sponsor and gold donor of the Property Industry Foundation with involvement with the foundation since 2009. Our participation spans across PIF initiatives throughout the year, successfully building a deeper partnership with the organisation through ongoing fundraising and sponsorship. Team Taylor is passionate about its advocacy for this important, industry-led cause.

Empowering Women in the Construction Industry Inspiring Breakfast Event

In a collaborative effort to empower women in the construction industry, Taylor partnered with Microsoft to co-host a Women in Construction Breakfast at one of our Data Centre Projects. The event brought together industry peers and working learners, including students from TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology – Construction and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), for a morning of networking, knowledge sharing and a facilitated site tour.

The breakfast provided a unique platform for women in the industry to connect, share insights, and explore the latest advancements in construction technology. A highlight of the event was a fun and interactive quiz featuring interesting statistics and facts about the industry. Congratulations to Isabella Di Nardo on winning first prize!

Taylor is dedicated to advocating for and supporting women in the construction industry. Events like this highlight the incredible opportunities and rewarding careers available in the field.

“We are thrilled to have partnered with Microsoft to host this event,” said Lulu Zhang, Contract Administrator at Taylor. “It’s initiatives like these that allow us to showcase the amazing potential and talent within our industry.”

The event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of industry guests and partners, including the Property Council of Australia (PCA), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), UTS, and TAFE NSW. Taylor extends its gratitude to all partners for their participation.

Sculpting Futures: Taylor’s Cadets, Graduates, and Apprentices Carve Their Path at Gosford Quarries

Combining practical learning with professional development, Taylor’s recent Cadet, Graduate, and Apprentice peer group catch up involved a unique field trip to Gosford Quarries, supplier of the stone for our Scots College project.

This insightful tour was facilitated by Gosford Quarries and the RJC Group, the stonemasonry subcontractor responsible for the stone installation at The Scots College. The group was expertly guided through the RJC Gosford Quarry by Sid, a proprietor of Gosford Quarries. The Taylor Team witnessed stone cutting in real-time, delved into the intricacies of stone cutting systems, and admired a completed product crafted for St Mary’s Cathedral.

Our Peer Group catch ups allow our Cadets, Graduates, and Apprentices to not only develop their understanding of different elements of Taylor, but also the procurement of materials and importance of building and maintaining strong relationships with our subcontractors.

Thank you to our Graduate and Cadet Peer Group champions, Dylan Massad, Ervin Bunic, Scott Dobson, and Jason Tulich for organising this unique excursion.

Bringing Together Our Emerging Professionals

Along with our Taylor team, the event welcomed professionals from Architectus, Colliers, and Northrop, who all played a part in creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.

Hosted in Taylor HQ, the afternoon was all about networking complemented with grazing spreads and a selection of popular beverages. This set a comfortable environment for attendees to meet, establish, and grow their professional relationships across different disciplines within the industry.

The Fireside Chat was a highlight of the event featuring representatives from each company. Moderated by our very own Daniel Taylor, speakers were encouraged to share fun facts about their businesses, discuss the most exciting innovations in design and construction, and give their best elevator pitch to a potential client. The conversation also touched on the collaboration between companies and how this is expected to evolve over the next five years.

Thank you to all our speakers who contributed to the Fireside Chat.

  • Liam Baker, Architectus
  • Ryan Pike, Northrop
  • Jake Michelutti, Taylor
  • Jessica Whitlock, Colliers
  • Callum Flitcroft, Colliers

As we continue with the Future Connect series, we’re committed to providing a platform that not only connects our emerging leaders, but also offers opportunities to learn from industry colleagues and build on valuable interdisciplinary relationships. We look forward to hosting our next event later this year.

Celebrating Collaboration, Artistry and Safety

In recognition of NAIDOC Week 2024, we would like to thank Total Surveying Solutions (TSS), a proud First Nations Business, for their continued collaboration and support. We are grateful to Michael Hatton, TSS Founder/Director, and David Hines, TSS Indigenous Advisor, who kindly presented our CEO, George Bardas, with a beautifully painted Hard Hat inspired by our RAP Artwork designed by Jasmin Sarin.

Total Surveying Solutions (TSS) has been a valued partner, working across many Taylor projects, and we look forward to continuing our relationship. David Hines created the painted Hard Hat, a true work of art, using inspiration from our RAP Artwork. It also acts as a symbol for our commitment to reconciliation and cultural appreciation and serves as a reminder of the importance of safety in our daily work.
