Taylor delivered the Redevelopment of Homebush West Public School for the Department of Education, forming part of the overall New South Wales State Government school program to provide new architecturally and technological current learning facilities targeting areas of urban growth.
The works comprised demolition of existing structures to allow for the construction of a new teaching building ‘The Bow’ which now provides teaching spaces, toilets, staff areas, a new canteen and the creation of a rooftop, multi-modal outdoor learning and active play space.
The project required the inclusion of five separate milestones of handover due to works being located over a large portion of the existing school precinct.

Taylor undertook an extensive review of the site’s specific requirements and similar live working environments. From this review, we provided a comprehensive plan to ensure both students and staff amenity and safety was maintained at all points in the programme.
The redevelopment of Homebush West Public School had to meet the required handover dates to ensure the facility was ready for the new school term in 2019 in addition to maintaining the existing infrastructure so student learning was not compromised.
Taylor was proud to be part of this unique project in delivering one of New South Wales’ first multi-modal, outdoor learning and active play space for the students at Homebush West Public School.
