The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust chose Taylor to undertake the Torpedo Factory Renewal Project at Sub Base Platypus. The project is located at 120 High Street, North Sydney, and was the next stage in the Harbour Trust’s plan to revitalise this historic landmark.
The renewal created a new foreshore park, provided heritage interpretation, and improved public access, creating a welcoming new entryway that includes parking spaces for locals and visitors. The new space links the Torpedo Factory to the greater Sub Base Platypus site and to the nearby Kesterton and Milson Parks.
The Harbour Trust protects and manages some of the most extraordinary places on Sydney Harbour. Its mission is to create a lasting legacy for the people of Australia by refurbishing historically significant foreshore sites and providing places that greatly enrich the cultural life of Sydney and the nation. Taylor was proud to support the Harbour Trust in that vision.
